ENGLISH AVENUE: Home
Back in 2010, English Avenue started with only 7 students, 2 of them were the children of the founder, Ms Hannah, and 4 subject teachers. Ms Hannah believes strongly that homeschooling is the best form of education in the early years, through this channel of education, the child learns the best discipline in studying and more importantly, parents get to spend quality time with the child which is the best antidote in most cases of low academic achievers. In short, family is the core motivation for a child’s success. With the same principle, she started English Avenue sharing what academic plan she has intended for her own children with a handful of others.
Being a qualified ESL teacher for almost 10 years now, she has taught English to non-speakers of English of different age groups. Back in Malaysia, she has accomplished her Master in TESOL with the University of Nottingham. She is rather disappointed to see little improvement has been made to the English proficiency level in schools, so if English is to be used as a medium of educational instruction as in the case of private institutions, there has to be a well-structured form of English learning and a considerable amount of exposure to the target culture in order for students to display decent proficiency in the English language. This is the fundamental objective of starting English Avenue Learning Centre.
With uncompromised dedication, sincerity and a strong belief in high integrity of work ethics, the staff of English Avenue has gained parents’ trust and confidence as an excellent and committed IGCSE-course provider as well as strict educator, the number of learners has grown steadily since then.
